Case Study Six – Resort Turnaround
The Client - The board of directors of a privately held company developing an exclusive private membership resort with extensive sport and leisure facilities. Background - A 150 acre development consisting of 250 luxury villas, chalets and townhouses; together with extensive leisure facilities which include a marina, water sports, sports fields, tennis, squash, basketball, archery, gymnasiums, spas, a family water park, fourteen food and beverage outlets, all provided within a pleasant gated community, situated on the eastern seaboard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Objective - To improve the performance of the resort operation and increase membership and member satisfaction; addressing the owners operating concerns within the above parameters. Results The consequence of these actions was a reduction of the first year loss by some twelve million riyals, The accelerated real estate sales programme and growth in membership by some thirty percent, enhanced the levels of activity in the food and beverage outlets, plus the spa and sports facilities thereby promoting opportunity for further future growth. |
